The Netflix Tudum has just ended, a live stream event where the largest streaming entertainment service revealed the big news of the next period. Below was exhibited moonrisethe anime series by WIT Studio and Tow Ubukata.
Moonrise is WIT Studio’s new Netflix anime to be shown during Tudum Directed by Masashi Koizuka of seasons 2 and 3 of Attack on Titan. The author’s Tow Ubukata anime series won’t be released until 2024, but a promotional video and poster have already been shared. Also among the staff working on this project are Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) as character designer and Ryo Kawasaki as music composer. Ubukata has also recently worked on episodes of RWBY: Ice Queendom.
Moonrise will take place in the near future and will be set on both Earth and Moon. The plot follows the adventures of two men, Jack and Al, as they face the difficulties of life in space. In 2018, Ubukata released a novel for free that serves as a prologue to the events. According to George Wada, CEO of WIT Studio, a “a kind of innovative animation that has never been seen before“and that this project”inspire contemporary life“.
