Naoya Matsumoto, the creator of the manga Kaiju No. 8 (Monster # 8 in the West) announced on Twitter that starting July 8, 2021 the new chapters of his work are no longer published weekly due to technical reasons”. Instead, the manga is published every two weeks, on Thursdays, for an indefinite period of time.

The author preferred not to specify the cause of the problems, but luckily it doesn’t appear to be stress or other health reasons. In the Twitter post below, the mangaka states that “Serialization will be biweekly for some time“Without giving a date or other details so that we at least know that there is a willingness to go back and distribute one chapter per week.

Monster # 8 recently celebrated 3 million copies in print with only 3 volumes available, a number that allowed the manga to Record one of the best jumps in Shonen Jump history, behind Spy x Family and Assassination Classroom. The work is extremely popular in Japan and it seems almost certain that it will spawn an anime adaptation. At the moment the manga is fully recoverable on MangaPlus, where the first 38 chapters are available in English.
