The highly anticipated second installment of the Mononoke film trilogy has been officially announced, with its theatrical release confirmed for March 14, 2025, in Japan. The announcement came through the project’s first promotional video, revealing the title “Mononoke the Movie Trilogy: Chapter 2.”

Series Premise
The story follows the enigmatic Medicine Seller, a master occultist traversing feudal Japan to hunt malevolent spirits known as “mononoke.” His unique method requires understanding three aspects of each spirit – Way, Truth, and Reason – before performing exorcisms. The narrative combines supernatural elements with psychological investigation, as demonstrated in the original series’ first arc featuring the Zashiki Warashi spirits at an old inn.
