After anticipating the debut of the mysterious Spider Smasher with the release of a promotional image, Marvel Comics has decided to reveal all the details about this new character which, beginning with Miles Morales: Spider-Man #38, will become part of the young Spider-Man mythology.
As revealed by Marvel, Spider-Smasher will play an important role in future Miles Morales stories. Created by screenwriter Saladin Ahmed and artist Christopher Allen, Spider-Smasher is a character that Miles will encounter in one of the alternate dimensions that he will visit during his multiverse journey that began in Miles Morales Spider Man 36, which this week is available in the United States.
Under the Spider-Smasher mask is a grown-up version of Billie Moralesthe little sister of Miles, “born” in the pages of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13 from 2019. The adult Billie, who will also make herself known as CapitΓ‘n Billie, lives in a reality under the yoke of the Empire of the Spider , a dictatorial regime created by Selim, a clone of Miles. In her role as Spider-Smasher, Billie represents the leader of the resistance trying to overthrow the evil Spider-Man’s kingdom.
“It’s shocking, not only do I have the opportunity to draw a chapter from one of the most important sagas of all time, but I also get to add an important piece to the story of one of my favorite characters!said the artist Allen.
In support of the announcement, Marvel also shared a study on the Spider-Smasher character design made by Allen, which we report on below. Miles Morales: Spider-Man #38 Will be released in the United States on May 4th.
