Over the next year, the Japanese animation industry will be enriched with quite interesting titles. Among the novelties arriving in 2023 is the recent announcement of The Story of the Outcastsfrom the manga series of the same name by Makoto Hoshino.

By opening the official pages and issuing a first promotional key visual, the anime adaptation of The Tale of the Outcasts has been officially announced. At the moment there is no certain information about the series, but the debut should take place by the end of next year. To celebrate the anime’s announcement, Makoto Hoshino shared two original illustrations depicting the two protagonists of the work. In 2023, Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack will also arrive.

The Tale of the Outcasts tells the story of Wisteria, an orphan girl living in a remote country of the British Empire at the end of the 19th century. His lonely life suddenly changes when he meets Malbus, an immortal and powerful hairy-looking creature haunted by hunters. United, Wisteria and Malbius travel across the Empire, populated by humans and anthropomorphic animals, looking for a place where they can finally live happily together. There will also be room for the release of Mushoku Tensei Season 2 next year.

In a way very similar to Beauty and the Beast, Hoshino’s manga has made its own Debuted in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in August 2019. The series ended in 2021 with the release of the eighth and final tankobon.
