In 2020, Netflix said it wanted to partner with CLAMP and other artists and several animation studios to bring many more anime-inspired products to its platform. A year later these fruits begin to show. The arrival of several products was actually announced during Geeked Week, including Make my day.
The many Netflix ads during Geeked Week didn’t allow us to keep a close eye on the nature of the new products. However, during these hours, some more information has been revealed about the various titles arriving on the platform.
Make My Day will be an anime film produced by Netflix and in which Yasuo Ohtagaki will participate, mangaka with works such as Moonlight Mile and Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. He will be the creator of the Make My Day story, which was created for the occasion and is therefore completely original. The mangaka was one of those who accepted last year’s Netflix project.
Yumiko Yoshizawa will write the script, while Shoji Kawamori and Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Flip Flappers, FLCL Progressive, FLCL Alternative) are the mechanical designers of the film. This means that we could see the presence of robots and planes of various kinds. The Makoto Honda directs the film “Make My Day”, with the Taiwanese studio 3DCG Studio 5 INC, which takes care of the animations and the character design.
The story takes place on an alien planet made of ice and snow, where humanity is put to the test by some creatures emerging from the underground. Will humans be able to withstand these extraterrestrial dangers?
