What’s coming, 2022, promises to be a phenomenal year for fans. Indeed, after the losses recorded this year, the animation industry is ready to start again at full capacity. However, the ghost of Covid-19 is still in the air and the first victim appears to be Luminous witches.
The update will be provided to us directly by Studio Shaft, the team working on the anime adaptation of Luminous Witches. As officially stated, the release window was postponed from 2021 to 2022. However, the reasons were not specified in more detail.
Luminous Witches was postponed due to “various circumstances”. But what exactly does it mean? With the spread of the Delta variant throughout Japanese territory, one of the main culprits seems to be the COVID-19. Luminous Witches, on the other hand, might just be the latest in a long list of projects that have been postponed or even canceled due to the pandemic. Of course, this is just a hypothesis: the reasons for the shift are unknown.
For those unfamiliar with it, Luminous Witches is an anime Spin-off from Strike Withces, a very popular franchise in Japan. Instead of fighting, this series focuses on a group of witches that they prefer act like an idol. While the war with the Neuroi continues undaunted, the protagonists have the task of protecting the smiles of the troops.
To direct the anime and manage the composition it will be Shouji Saeki, while Shiniya Murakami was recognized as the literary supervisor of the Witches franchise. We leave you a first trailer of Luminous Witcher.
To avoid closing some animation studios, Rei Ayanami invites fans to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
