US comics should hit the market at the end of December Luke Cage: City of Fire, the new comic series dedicated to the Harlem superhero. Unfortunately, this project doesn’t seem to see the light of day: the Series was actually canceled by Marvel Comics.
Although he was never a leading Marvel character, Luke Cage has grown his share of audiences over time and has hit the small screen as well, thanks to the Netflix adaptation of Luke Cage. So many were waiting for the new comic book series dedicated to the former Power Man, but who will not see the light.
Luke Cage: City of Fire was announced last July, and the release date of the first edition has been set for December 29, 2021. the news of the cancellation was the series’ writer, Ho Che Anderson, who said in an Instagram post: “There is no easy way to say this. I was told that [la serie di] Luke Cage was canceled this morning, a month after the premiere. The scripts are all ready. The first release is done and it’s a real beauty. Numbers 2 and 3 were currently in production. […] Maybe one day it will see the light, but for now the comic is dead and gone“.
We don’t know when we will read again the adventures of Luke Cage. The same applies to a possible remake in live action: After Marvel’s Luke Cage was canceled, the protagonist Mike Colter received no suggestion to reinterpret the character.
