Shortly after completing the second season of Life as a Slime, Studio got 8-bit announced the production of an anime film to be released in 2022. The film will serve as a sequel to the story, but it’s currently not confirmed whether it will be from the light novel franchise or is entirely original.
The anime adaptation of Vita da Slime comes from the eponymous Fuse web novel, which in turn received two print adaptations, one as a light novel series and one as a manga. The series is currently still running with 18 published volumes, and the two seasons of the anime – both available for free on Crunchyroll – have transposed the events of the first 8 volumes.
Between the two seasons of Studio 8-Bit, OVA and the spin-off The Slime Diaries, Vita da Slime’s anime has practically never stopped, and today, after nearly three years of uninterrupted broadcast, a hiatus has been announced. The anime will therefore return in the course of 2022, probably in the fall, with the new anime film. At the moment there is no news regarding the renewal for a hypothetical season 3.
