We unfortunately remember the arson that took place in July 2019 at the animation studio’s headquarters Kyoto animation. The latest news concerns the official indictment against the person responsible. Let’s go into detail.

Through a service from Kyodo news We hear of the impending charges against Shinji Aoba, the creator of the disaster, in which 36 people died and 33 others were injured. The 42-year-old man suspected of the fire in the first building of Kyoto Animation was arrested in May 2020 after 10 months the man had been in held in custody to be healed of life threatening burns by one’s own insane gesture.

Also, according to the report, it appears that Aoba was mentally capable and therefore fully responsible for the crime. After the arrest, police released the recording of the man who allegedly said, “I thought I could kill a lot of people with gasoline.”

The fire took place at Kyoto Animation headquarters on July 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Japanese time. Firemen later extinguished the flames 5 hours after they had spread. What would induce people to do the deed would be a alleged theft of a light novel written by the same from the animation studio. The police have confirmed the dispatch of several Aoba works, but none appear to be the basis for any of the producer’s projects.

Finally, I am reporting on the return of Kyoto Animation a year after the terrible fire.
