On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by Hiroyuki, Kanojo mo Kanojo (girlfriend, girlfriend) the production of a second season of the project was announced. The press release did not reveal any production details or a release date, but included an image created by the author himself.

Hiroyuki started publishing the manga through the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher Kodansha in March 2020. Summary of Kanojo mo Kanojo
After several years of unrequited love, Naoya Mukai finally gets a date with his childhood friend, Saki Saki. But just as he’s trying to commit to this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase. At first, Naoya tries to reject her, but is soon overcome by the feeling of not wanting to hurt her. In order not to betray his girlfriend’s trust, Naoya thinks of a “solution” to make them both happy: to date both of them. Of course, Saki rejects the idea, but through Naoya and Nagisa’s insistence, she finally agrees. This begins a three-way romance between his girlfriend Naoya and his other girlfriend, who are already in a relationship that deviates from the norm.
