On the official page for the manga written and illustrated by Hiroyuki, Kanojo mo Kanojo (Girlfriend, girlfriend) the cover of the ninth anthology was published, which will appear in Japan on January 17, 2022. The synopsis writes: «The blue sea, the blue sky and cute swimsuits! The incredible journey to Okinawa has begun !! The beach will be the site of a fierce battle between Nagisa, Saki, Rika and Shino. The first to launch her entire arsenal is Shino, who was left alone with Naoya on a desert island! She gently brings her body closer to Naoya and then … Don’t miss this and other kiss fights in volume number 9 !!!!».

Kanojo mo Kanojo

Hiroyuki started publishing the manga through the magazine Weekly Shonen magazine from the publisher Kodansha in March 2020. The publisher published the sixth anthology on June 17th, followed by the seventh on August 17th in Japan. Hiroyuki is also the author of manga like Aho girl, Doujin work Yes Mangaka-san to Assistant-san toowho inspired anime adaptations.

The piece inspired a twelve-part anime adaptation produced by the studios. Tezuka Productions, Headed by Satoshi Kuwahara and scripts written by Keiichirou Oochiwhich aired during the 2021 summer season (July-September). So far there is no information about the production of a second season.

Summary of Kanojo mo Kanojo

After Naoya Mukai had an unrequited love for several years, she finally gets a date with her childhood friend Saki Saki. However, when he tries to get involved in this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase. Naoya tries to reject her at first, but is soon overwhelmed by the feeling of not wanting to hurt her. In order not to abuse his girlfriend’s trust, Naoya comes up with a “solution” to make both happy: going out with both of them. Of course, Saki rejects the idea, but through Naoya and Nagisa’s persistence, she eventually accepts. This begins a three-headed romance between Naoya, his girlfriend, and his other girlfriend, who are already in a relationship that deviates from the social norm.
