Written and drawn by Naoya Matsumoto, Kaiju #8 is one of the most popular manga series of recent times, so much so that despite having only 82 published chapters, it deserves the announcement of an animated adaptation. Is it possible to have controversy without an anime already being released?
The animated series Kaiju #8 will be released in 2024 in the experienced hands of production IG, renowned animation studio behind Haikyuu!! and many other popular works. Although the release is still a long way off, the project staff presented the character designs of the protagonists of Kaiju #8 on Twitter. However, they are already finished raise public.
Months and months before the release, users have already opened one Dire speech on Production IG’s customization work. The fandom is investigating the anime designs of Kafka Hibino aka Monster #8, Kikoru Shinomiya, and Mino Ashira.
The Character graphics do not convince fans of the mangawho feel that the animated versions of their favorite heroes don’t match Matsumoto Sensei’s drawings. According to fans, this type of design lends itself well to a work more in the vein of Naruto or My Hero Academia than the more serious and violent of Kaiju No. 8. The controversy has therefore sparked on Twitter with the consequent plea for correction in the animation studio.
I know animating is difficult and simplifying is helpful, but it doesn’t mean you change art style when you have a manga source that people love. You can still see the jjk and mha style on these sheets. When I look at Kaiju, I see Naruto. likes Naruto’s style, but he doesn’t show Kaiju’s vibe pic.twitter.com/MkQdENOcM3
