Jujutsu Kaisen’s break in June coincided with the finale of the mini saga dedicated to the Zenin clan. A Maki the star had inevitably earned the lead role before he left the scepter back to the main character Yuji Itadori, who came back into action with chapter 153 of the manga.
With a little delay compared to the publisher’s original plans, precisely because of the pause observed by the mangaka Gege Akutami, the Volume 17 of Jujutsu Kaisen. The next Tankobon to be released in Japan – planned for the first days of October, so in a few weeks – will contain the mini saga of the Zenin clan. For this, the author decided to put Naoya Zenin, the rising chief and main enemy of this phase, on the cover.
As can be seen below Naoya is the only character featured in this title illustration, with a trickle of blood running down his hair and face. A drawing that is certainly unsettling and partly reproduces the character’s soul, but which not everyone liked. Or rather, in Many would have preferred to see Maki on the cover of Jujutsu Kaisen 17who put an end to the ambitions of this clan once and for all.
There was quite a loud protest on Twitter from the fringes of fandom, as Yonko Productions notes in his second tweet. It must be said, however, that maki will have many other ways to get noticed on the front pages of Jujutsu Kaisen in the future. This tankobon will contain Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 150, which has completely convinced all readers of the manga.
