A press release reports that the light novels were written by Sai Sumimori and illustrated by Ai Takahashi, Jitsu wa ore, Saikyou deshita? (Am I actually the strongest?), will have an anime adaptation that will be released in Japan in 2023. The statement did not reveal any production details.

Sai Sumimori began publishing the light novels in May 2019, while the publisher Kodansha will release the fifth volume in Japan on October 1st. A manga adaptation of Ai Takahashi will be published via the digital service Suiyoubi no Sirius since April 2019.
Sumimori is also a writer for other literary franchises such as Mahoutsukai Nara Miso Wo Kue!; Saikyou Yuusha wa Oharaibako→Maou ni Nattara Zutto Ore no Musou Turn; Kyomu no Maou, Sousei no Eiyuuki; Cheat na Maou no Douguya wa, Kyou mo Baito ga Hatarakanai!?; among other things.
