It’s been about a year and a half since Kaguya-sama: Love is War author Aka Akasaka and Scum’s Wish author Yokoyari Mengo decided to combine their skills to create a new story. With Akasaka in the script and Mengo in the drawings, he was born Oshi no Koa work that focuses on Japanese idols and actors.
AND It didn’t take long for Oshi no Ko to gain immediate attention. Already the first chapter had shown some interesting plot twists, with Akasaka deciding to double the dose within another fifteen chapters. The thriller takes us into the world of Japanese show business with all its lights and shadows and the absurd rules to which it has to submit. Oshi no Ko immediately won awards and was nominated for others, and sales are booming.
This success will soon receive further confirmation. According to the usually reliable leaker Spanku on those early announcements, Oshi no Ko is getting an anime. However, at the moment there is no further information and we will have to wait for Weekly Young Jump magazine to officially reveal everything in its magazine or with a companion event. However, given the success at home, it’s only a matter of time for the manga by Akasaka and Mengo.
