On the official page for the animated adaptation of the manga by hero and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara, Horimiya, Details and covers for the fourth compilation of the project’s Blu-ray / DVD package have been revealed.

This second Blu-ray / DVD volume will contain the fourth and fifth episodes of this adaptation and will be released in Japan on May 26th. The Blu-ray version is priced at 6,800 yen (about $ 65) and the DVD version is priced at 5,800 yen (about $ 56).

On the other hand, the series was broadcast in Japan during the winter season 2021 (January-March) with a total of thirteen episodes and with Funimation Radiance in the west. The manga was published by the magazine Monthly G-Fantasy from the publisher Square enix since October 2011 and ended in March 2021.

Production team

  • Masashi ishihama ((Glas no Hana according to Kowasu Sekai, Persona 5 the animation, Senkou no night attack) was responsible for leading the project in the studies Cloverworks.
  • Takao Yoshioka ((100 men no Inochi no Ue ni Erz wa Tatteiru, Demi-chan wa Kataritai, High School DxD) was responsible for writing and monitoring the scripts.
  • Haruko Iizuka ((Ensemble Stars!, Hentai Ouji based on Warawanai Neko., Josee after Torah after Sakana-tachi) was responsible for the character design.
  • Masaru Yokoyama ((Arakawa under the bridge, Fate / Apocrypha, Koi after Uso) was responsible for composing the soundtrack.

Horimiya synopsis

Though high school student Kyouko Hori was admired for her kindness and academic prowess, she has hidden another side of her. Since her parents are often away from work because of work, Hori has to take care of her younger brother and do housework without having time to socialize outside of school.

Meanwhile, Izumi Miyamura is seen as a haunted otaku wearing glasses. However, he is actually a kind and incompetent person at learning. He also has nine piercings hidden behind his long hair and a tattoo on his back and left shoulder. By chance, Hori and Miyamura pass each other outside of school and don’t look like the other would expect. These apparent opposites become friends and share a side that they have never shown anyone before.
