On the official site for the anime adaptation of the game for smartphones, Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine, it was announced that the series will be broadcast in Japan starting in July of this year. This broadcast will be titled Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine Re: fine, and will make use of the content presented in the Blu-ray versions. In addition, the inclusion of an additional episode is planned.

For its part, the game was released in June 2017 for devices iOS and Android in Japan, and was developed by Akatsuki. The installment inspired a manga adaptation written by Bkub Okawa and a novelization titled Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine ~ Before Summer ~.

Additionally, the game inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. TMS Entertainment, under the direction of Susumu Kudo, and scripts written by Jin Tanaka, released in April 2019.

Synopsis of Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine

In the game, the player assumes the role of an experienced adult baseball player who saw his career end after suffering an unspecified injury. The character moves to his grandmother's town and enlists in a local high school, determined never to return to the world of sports. However, when the character meets Tsubasa Arihara, he is persuaded to become the coach of the school's baseball team, and take him to the nationals.
