Johnny Blaze, the original Ghost Rider, is about to return to the new regular series dedicated to the character. With the Ghost Rider #1 preview published by Marvel Comics, we can get our first glimpse of the character’s new status quo, who finds herself in a decidedly new position.
As Norman Reedus discusses the possibility of playing Ghost Rider in the MCU, the first Ghost Rider returns to the comics. Lately, the mantle of the Spirit of Vengeance was actually taken by Robbie Reyes, a character who achieved an important role in the Marvel Universe by appearing among the protagonists of the final run of Avengers. While Robbie Reyes will continue to play Ghost Rider, the original spirit of vengeance is determined to resume its rightful place.
“Johnny Blaze has a perfect life: a wife and two kids, a job in a garage, and a small-town church to support him… But Johnny isn’t doing well“, reads the summary published by Marvel.”He is plagued by monstrous nightmares when he sleeps. And he sees bloody visions when he’s awake. His life begins to feel like a prison. And inside of him is a ghost trying to break free!“.
The preview we share below, actually depicts Johnny discussing his nightmares during a psychiatric therapy session and declaring that the only way he can get well is to take refuge in alcohol. Also, Johnny has a mysterious scar on his head seems to have made him unconscious of being possessed by the spirit of vengeance.
Ghost Rider #1 It is written by Benjamin Percy and illustrated by Cory Smith. The issue’s main cover was created by Kael Ngu and is scheduled for US release on February 23, 2022. In May, another old Ghost Rider returns: Marvel has announced New Fantastic Four, a limited series that will see the return of a team from Fantastic Four, including Danny Ketch, the second Ghost Rider.
