On the official Twitter account for the anime Pokémon Travel has released a new promotional video for the series' new bow, titled "Project MewThe video introduces two new characters, but also confirms the character's return. Shigeru Oukido, better known as Gary Oak in the West.
The new characters include:
Hiroshi Kamiya ((Levi in Shingeki no Kyojin) as Tsurugi.
Ryoko Shiraishi ((Sora in Digimon Adventure) as Asahi.
On the other hand, the series premiered in Japan in November 2019, two days after the video games started. Pokémon Sword & Shield. Although the series took a hiatus in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it eventually resumed in June of that year and has remained active to this day.

Pokémon Journeys Synopsis
On a new day in the Kanto region, Satoshi is invited by Professor Yukinari Ookido to the opening ceremony of Professor Sakuragi's laboratory in Vermillion City. During the celebratory speech, Professor Sakuragi receives a warning about a potentially rare Pokémon that appears in Vermillion City Harbor and tells Satoshi and the other Trainers to run into the area in hopes of finding the mysterious Pokémon. In the harbor they find Lugia, a legendary Pokémon, fighting with other trainers.
Satoshi notices the tactics of the other coaches and lets his partner Pikachu beat Lugia with a Thunderbolt attack. Unimpressed, Lugia flees, but not before Satoshi resolutely jumps onto his back. To Satoshi's surprise, he meets another boy, Gou, who also jumped on Lugia's back. The two ride on Lugia's back as he leads them on a strange adventure across the seas. While Satoshi and Gou leave them on the ground, they say goodbye to Lugia and return to the Sakuragi Institute.
Impressed by Gou's findings and Satoshi's insight during their encounter, Sakuragi asks the duo to be his new research partners. And so begins the duo's journey, traveling across regions to meet lots of new Pokémon, including those with the Gigantamax ability!
