For the first time the manga Fullmetal Alchemist is officially brought to the theater. The show will be performed at Shin Kabuki-za in Osaka from March 8 to 12, 2023 and at Nippon Seinen-kan Hall in Tokyo from March 17 to 26, 2023.
As also reported by AnimeNewsNetwork, the announcement comes directly from Square Enix and Marvelous. Directed and written by Sachiko Ishimaru. The protagonist Edward Elric is played by Yohei Isshiki and Ryota Hirono. His brother Alphonse is instead played by Shuto Mashima in his human form while he is in armor by Kōsei Sakurada. Details on ticket sales are not yet known.
Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga ran in the Monthly Shonen Gangan from 2001 to 2010 and inspired anime adaptations for television, two OVAs, two anime films and three live-action films on Netflix in 2003 and 2009, including the first live-action Films of 2017, which we told you about in the review of the film Fullmetal Alchemist and its two sequels Fullmetal Alchemist: Scar’s Revenge and Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Alchemy released this year to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
In short, the life of the franchise is anything but downhill. In fact, in August this year, Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile was released in Japan, faithfully recreating the plot of the original manga.
