More than ten years after the success of the Flashpoint crossover DC Comics has announced a six-issue miniseries which will take readers back to the Flashpoint alternate universe and will also star Thomas Wayne’s Batman. Geoff Johns, the writer of the original crossover, will also return as a screenwriter for the sequel.

2011 Geoff Johns and Adam Kubert They rewrote the status quo of the DC Universe with Flashpoint. The original miniseries featured Barry Allen traveling back in time to save his mother, but finding himself in a universe where Bruce Wayne had been murdered instead of his parents Thomas Wayne had become Batmanand Martha Wayne the Joker. An adaptation set in The CW’s Arroverse was loosely inspired by the comic series (here are our impressions of The Flash Season 3).

Flashpoint Beyond is the title of the sequel to the miniserieswill be written by Geoff Johns, Jeremy Adams and Tim Sheridan, flanked by artist Xermánico, while Eduardo Risso will tackle Flashpoint Beyond #0’s prologue.

Everyone working on these books is doing their best to do something worthy of the readers’ time in this very competitive environment.“explains Johns.”For fans, this is one of the great DC events and part of the great DC Comics story. Although this is an event, we’re more focused on the characters than the concept – it’s the story of Thomas Wayne’s Batman, an alternate Barry Allen, Bruce Wayne’s crimes – it’s a murder mystery, a secret mission and a glimpse into the past . Present and Future of the DC Continuum. And it’s as dark a story as can be in the upside-down world of Flashpoint, and it’s fun“.

The appointment with Flash point beyond # 0 is scheduled for April 5, 2022 in the United States. Flashpoint Beyond #1 will follow on April 19th. At the bottom next to the covers of Flashpoint Beyond also #0 and #1 some preview tables. Remember Flashpoint will also be the focus of a cinematic adaptation: more details in our analysis of The Flash trailer.
