There’s no doubt that the DC Comics Flash superhero is “the fastest man alive.” Being able to access the “Force of Speed” or Speed Force in the original version, There are few superheroes that can rival the Scarlet Sprinter. But how strong is Flash compared to other DC heroes?
A theme that comics often come back to is the identity of the fastest hero. Finally, we’re talking about a world that, beyond Flash, also sees the presence of the almost almighty Superman: a contest between the two superheroes was also the subject of a post-credits scene from the Justice League film directed by Joss Whedon (here our Justice League review).
Well, though the outcome of the challenge often wavered, There is no doubt that Flash is definitely faster than Superman. Being able to tap into the Speed Force, Barry Allen and Wally West’s speed abilities are on a whole different level than Superman’s.
Either way, Barry Allen or Wally West could hardly overpower Superman in battle despite their impressive power. Self Technically, Flash doesn’t have superhuman strength, the ability to move at the speed of light make his shots a true force of nature.
However, Flash’s true power isn’t just about physical strength what the Speed Force allows. The basis of the powers of all Sprinters in the DC Universe, the Speed Force is a cosmic force based on movement: it is the force that regulates the passage of time and the expansion of space.
By the Speed Force, on several occasions Barry Allen managed to travel through time: the most famous example is flash point, DC event released in 2011 where Barry changed the timeline and revolutionized the entire DC Universe.
Flash also has the power to vibrate through solid objects and even entire universes: this has allowed him to travel between alternate realities. It’s certainly one of Flash’s greatest achievements his sacrifice is told in Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC crossover, released between 1985 and 1986: In an attempt to stop the Anti-Monitor’s antimatter cannon, which threatened to destroy entire universes, Barry Allen will run fast enough to be consumed by the Speed Force, who has remained dead in comics for over twenty years.
This year, Flash will be starring in a film directed by Andy Muschietti: The Flash is currently slated for release in November 2022. DC Comics recently announced “The Flash” comic that will serve as a prologue to the events of the film.
