Square Enix announced the release of a Final Fantasy VII themed light novel starring Tifa Lockhart and Aerith Gainsborough, two of the heroines of the game. The light novel, titled Trace of Two Pasts, was written by the author Kazushige Nojima and will be available as a bundle with the Final Fantasy VII Remake Ultimania Plus starting July 15.

The Final Fantasy VII remake Ultimania Plus was released in Japan on April 28th and contains 752 pages of material dedicated to Square Enix's latest endeavors, including an official guide to the video game and interviews with the developers. It will be possible from July 15th Buy a new bundle with the lightweight novel Ultimania Plus and Nojima, already available for pre-order for 5610 yen (approx. 42 โ‚ฌ). The novel can also be purchased individually for 1650 yen (approx. โ‚ฌ 12.50).

Over the course of his long career, Nojima has worked on Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and many other chapters of the saga, which is why many fans are eagerly awaiting this deepening. The cover of the novel he only expects the background stories of the two heroines to be deepened, but at the moment it's not clear whether the story will be canon or not. In the US, the novel is due to appear in December.
