Animation studios GEEK TOYS announced the production of an animated adaptation of the role-playing video game franchise, Fantasy Sango (Huanxiang Sanguozhi or Gensou Sangokushi). The series bears the title Gensou Sangokushi: Tengen Reishinki and its premiere is scheduled for next October in Japan.

Fantasy Sango

The first game was released in 2003, and since the fifth iteration, the franchise has sold more than two million copies. The game combines the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi), one of Four great classic novels from China (With Journey to the west, Dream of the Red Chamber Yes Water’s edge / Suikoden), with elements of supernatural fantasy.

Production team

  • Shunsuke Machitani (Planetarians) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios GEEK TOYS, with the help of Shinpei Nagai.
  • Masashi suzuki (Oda Nobuna’s ambition, I couldn’t become a hero, so I reluctantly decided to get a job., Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox, Plunderer) is responsible for writing and maintaining the scripts.
  • CSPG Yes Tetsutarou Yui You are responsible for character design.
  • Tsutomu Tagashira is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack, with the sound direction from Yuji flavor.

Gensou Sangokushi Contents: Tengen Reishinki (Fantasia Sango)

The story takes place in ancient China during the Three Kingdoms Era, when several powerful warlords began to conquer the known kingdoms. After being wiped out under unforeseen circumstances, the 6th Unit reunited with members from different and difficult histories: the seal handler and practitioner Ōki, the spirit purifier Shunkyō, Teiken, and the demon hunter Shōrei.
