Stop-motion technology has shaped numerous world-famous animated films, some of which have become icons of the genre. Just think of the great Nightmare Before Christmas. The Animist YouTube channel wanted to try and get the characters off Evangelion with a viral clip on the net.
The Evangelion franchise is one of the most important in Japanese animation, a series that has been waiting to be finalized for years. Next January 23rdAfter a long and restless wait due to the director’s health conditions, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 will finally release the last part of the so-called “rebuild” tetralogy.
In any case, a video was broadcast on yesterday’s YouTube channel animist, a guy who successfully tried to recreate an original scene from the series Stop motion technique. The clip in question that you can admire on the top of the news presents a gymnastics competition where Unit 02 is delighted with its performance under the harsh judgments of Rei, Kaworu, and Shinji all under Asuka’s control. The video was very much appreciated by the fans for the incredible rendering of the video, largely thanks to the talent of Animist who managed to give the characters the right expressiveness despite the difficulties of the frame-by-frame technique.
Always at the top of the page, however, you can watch the “Making of”, that is the entire manic process that led to the creation of this incredible clip. And you, instead, what do you think of this video, do you like it? Let us know with a comment in the appropriate box below.
