2022 promises to be a fantastic year for dragon ball. The new movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero finally has a release date, and fans are eagerly awaiting the feature film's debut in Japanese theaters. The protagonist of Super Hero will be Gohan, who hasn't had a prominent role in the franchise for too long.
Goku's son actually had his last moment of fame in the fight against Majin Buu in Dragon Ball Z. However, Gohan reached the pinnacle of his performances in the franchise when he battled Cell, which transformed him into Super Saiyan 2 for the first time. One of the historical moments of the anime that still sticks in the memory of every long-time fan.
And from a fan's Twitter profile comes an incredible artwork of the Gohan vs. Cell fight: @Justin96636 wanted to share the illustration of Gohan vs. Cell in traditional Japanese stylecalled ukiyo-e.
Ukiyo-e, literally"Images of the floating world", is a Japanese drawing style that developed during the Edo period (early 17th century - late 19th century). In the illustration shared by @Justin96636, Gohan and Cell actually appear to be floating, while the little Saiyan throws a Kamehameha at the enemy. Gohan has pupilless eyes that give him a truly unforgiving aura. Cell looks like a real one instead yokai.
Gohan never reached the stage of Super Saiyan 3but one fan imagined all of Dragon Ball Z's Saiyans in the form of Super Saiyan 3 and posted a picture on Twitter which, as you can imagine, won fans over.
