A new preview of some gadgets from Dragon Ball Super: Superhero contains models and character biographies, included gohan. Gohan’s bio reads as follows: βFirst we have Ultimate Gohan, which we saw in the key visual of the new film! What kind of enemy will he face in his most powerful form? “
Ultimate Gohan appeared first in the Dragon Ball Z Buu Saga, when Elder Kaioshin unlocked Gohan’s latent potential. Dragon Ball Super saw Gohan’s ultimate form get an upgrade so he could join Universe 7’s team in the Tournament of Power.
Gohan’s performance in the tournament varied depending on the anime or manga version of the story, but it was clear that at this point in the franchise, Ultimate Gohan was at least as strong (or more?) as a Super Saiyan Blueor Super Saiyan Kefla.
Of course, both Goku and Vegeta have made significant advances in their powers since the Tournament of Power. Goku has mastered the angel powerultra instinctallowing him to fight faster than the speed of his own thinking.
Vegeta traveled to the planet Yardrat (home of Goku’s teleportation technique) and learned a whole new system of energy manipulation (Spirit Control). Vegeta went one step further and decided to challenge Goku’s mastery of the Ultra Instinct by evolving it your own powers of the god of destruction.
As for Gohan, the young man showed his Ultimate form increased slightly in power during Moro’s attack on Earthbut nothing significant. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is now the best opportunity the franchise has to take Gohan to the next level of power, putting him back on par with Goku and Vegeta – if not more powerful.
It was a lingering gap in the franchise’s lore that irked many fans, after all, Gohan was Dragon Ball Z’s true “chosen” protagonist, destined to surpass his father. However, Dragon Ball Super took a hard reversal from this story arc Focus almost exclusively on Goku and Vegeta – and not all fans are happy with it.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero seems to be the piece the writers want to add to the franchise to allay fan concerns on that front – and this latest promo is another strong indicator that the film will indeed make Gohan fans very happy. But with plenty of room set aside for Gohan and the androids, is it possible that the perfect android cell could make a return in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero as well?
