Through Monaito’s story Dragon Ball Super Chapter 77 leads readers to relive the carnage of the cerealers, the race Granolah seeks to avenge at all costs, even for its own life. That night, however, it wasn’t just the cereals that died.

Forty years before the Granolah, Goku, and Vegeta clash, Planet Cereal was the scene of another fierce fight. One night the Cerealians were ambushed by the Saiyan army under the direct command of the tyrant Freezer.

In the flashback that Granolah relived through Elder Monaito’s words, readers finally discover how brutal they are Genocide that happened that night. The intruders were methodical and brutal, thanks to a detailed plan. Taking advantage of dark and the full moon, the Saiyan transformed themselves into oozaru to break through the cereal defenses.

To inhabit cereal, however, there was not only the breed to which Granolah belongs. In order to live peacefully next to them, there was one too Namek colony, apparently Freezer’s favorite booty.

Unlike the cerealers who fell in battle, the Namekians fared far worse. They were collected and massacred by a ruthless firing squad. The only one who survived that night was Monaito, who can now tell the truth to the other survivor of the invasion, Granolah.

We say goodbye to Cereal’s fall in Dragon Ball Super 77 and to the first meeting between Goku and his father Bardock.
