Although Marvel Comics has promised great upheaval for its universe in the finale of the Devil’s Reign event, the third part of the miniseries already presents a big twist at the end: In the final pages A popular Marvel supporting character is actually killed by the assassins hired by Kingpin.
In Devil’s Reign #3, already available in the USA, Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto tell of the heroes banned from the city of New York by Mayor Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, who is seeking re-election. In their plans to oust the mayor, The superheroes of New York split into two factions: One wants to legally defeat Kingpin and tries to make Luke Cage the new mayor; the other, led by Daredevil, is willing to override the value of democracy and use force to incapacitate Wilson Fisk if necessary.
The candidate at his first campaign event Luke Cage is assisted by attorney Foggy Nelson, historical supporting actor of the Daredevil series. Apparently, the help Foggy offered to the Marvel superheroes was not welcomed by Kingpin, who appears at the end of Devil’s Reign #3, hires two hitmen to assassinate the defenseless lawyerwhich seems to succumb to the blows of the attackers.
Even though Foggy Nelson’s death is more than meets the eyeIn true Marvel Comics tradition, the last word is yet to be spoken: the next issue, Devil’s Reign #4, could reveal that Matt Murdock’s best friend actually managed to survive the ambush, even if the odds are in moment are contrary to him.
Devil Reign #4of which we propose the cover below, will be released on February 9, 2022 in the United States. At the end of this event, the run of Zdarsky and Checchetto dedicated to the man without fear will be continued in the relaunch of Daredevil, restarting from number 1.
