After a quick run through the arch of the Mugen train, the second season of Demon Slayer explores an area that, if not the manga readers, is familiar with the narrative arc of the Red light district.
A new story arc naturally also brings new details and new surprises, for example a new opening theme for fans. The latter insisted on analyzing it frame by frame. And if you looked very closely, you will have noticed that yes sees the new big villain of the current narrative arc.
It all started that weekend when Demon Slayer presented the first episode of the new Red Light District storyline. The colorful story began with a special opening and the animation sequence showed some familiar faces. Of course, some of the characters featured are new and one of them will look very familiar to readers of the manga.
If you didn’t pay proper attention to the re-opening of Demon Slayer 2 sung by Aimer, you may have missed the clip in which Gyutaro can be seen. The demon is one of the great antagonists in the history of the red light district and its slim shape will be shown at the end of this reopening. Gyutaro is shown briefly preparing for the battle against Tengen on the rooftops.
For those who know Gyutaro from the Demon Slayer manga, his reputation speaks for itself. The demon is very powerful and the bond he shares with his sister makes him even stronger. Above the arch of the red light district, Gyutaro becomes a thorn in Tengen’s side, and the two of them will have some violent confrontations.
It is clear that Gyutaro takes on the role of Akaza in that new season two arc, but fans of the anime hope Tengen is a lot luckier than Rengoku. The pillar of flame gave his life to defeat his enemy, but Akaza is still alive. Now Gyutaro Tengen has thrown the gauntlet, so let’s all cheer the Pillar of Sound in these upcoming episodes.
