Tanjiro is a simple coal seller who finds himself in one of the worst scenarios. An unknown demon made his sister a creature of the night and thirsty for human blood and all that he will give Beginning of the story of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Under the teachings of Urokodaki Sakonji, Tanjiro was initiated into the art of the sword and knowledge of demons. Again and again he defeated increasingly strong opponents and grew considerably compared to the beginning. Still, there are those much stronger than him, the pillars, the head of Demon Slayer’s demon hunter corps. Some of them have already shown their immense power, significantly higher than that of a normal hunter. Because of this, how strong is Tanjiro now compared to a pillar?
Let’s consider the Tanjiro at the end of the Mugen Zug saga, then at the end of the first arc of Demon Slayer 2. After Rui, the sixth waning moon that was narrowly struck, Tanjiro faced Enmu, the first waning moon. However, he only defeated them thanks to the intervention of Inosuke, who helped him all the time. In comparison, Rengoku managed to face Akaza, the third crescent moon and thus one of the strongest warriors in the service of Kibutsuji Muzan. Even if they are defeated, the strength of Rengoku and therefore of one pillar is still vastly superior to that of Tanjiro.
