According to Chinese leakers, more information on the anime adaptation of the manga ‘Chainsaw Man’ will be available soon. Jump Festa 2022 will take place in December, but information could have been leaked earlier, such as on ‘SPY x FAMILY’. However, the information in the tweet shows that we will have more information not only in December on the occasion of the Jump Festa ’22, but well in advance, even if we do not know exactly when.
It’s not the first time several persistent rumors have been confirmed by official announcements. A current example is exactly that of the announcement of the Spy X Family anime with an attached official trailer.
Dealing with the anime will be the MAPPA animation studio, seen in action recently with the final season of The attack of the giants and the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Finally, a trailer for the anime of Chainsaw Man was shown on the MAPPA Stage 2021, but apart from exactly what we were shown and some information such as the director Ryu Nakayama, it did not reveal any relevant information about the release date.
From the information in the tweet, however, it appears that we may not only be on the occasion of December Jump Festival ’22, but earlier, even if we don’t know exactly when. The Weekly Shonen Jump Event takes place both live and online.
Studio MAPPA has recently been the focus of several controversies and serious allegations: Abuse of animators for producing with the obligatory crunch Yasuke and The attack of the giants 4 and low wages for all freelance workers. But just recently, the Chainsaw Man studio announced plans to change course, and according to director Ryu Nakayama, the results are already visible.
