The official website of the anime adaptation of the manga call of the night (Yofukashi no Uta) written and illustrated by Kotoyama has released a new promotional video featuring the character Nazuna Nanakusa, played by Sora Amamiya. The video confirms that the release is still scheduled for July in Japan.
Kotoyamawho is also the writer of the franchise Dagashi KashiShe started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday Publisher Shogakukan in August 2019. The publisher released the seventh volume of the collection in April 2021, followed by the eighth in July 2021 in Japan.
Among the voice actors we find General Satou like Kou Yamori and Sora Amamiya like Nazuna Nanakusa. As a production staff, we have Tomoyuki Itamura (Hanamonogatari, Mahou Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba, The Case Study of Vanitas) directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS Studios, while Tatsuya Miyanishi is in charge of general direction.
Michiko Yokote (Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastrale, The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated !, Teasing Master Takagi-san) is in charge of scriptwriting and supervision. H.Aruka Sagawa (Happy-Go-Lucky Days, Genji Fantasy: The Cat Fell in Love with Hikaru Genji, Sorcery in the Big City) is responsible for character design. Creepy Nuts compose the main song.
“Kou Yamori looks like a typical high school student. Relatively good at his studies and kind to his classmates, he tries to keep up that facade. However, one day he decides to stop pretending, drops out of school and develops ainsomnia because he has no socket for his energy during the day. Walking alone at night makes him feel a little better, although he is aware that his insomnia should be treated as a serious problem.
On one of these walks, Kou meets a strange girl Nazuna Nanakusa, who diagnoses the cause of his insomnia: Although he has made changes in his life, they still prevent him from experiencing true freedom. She tells him that he will not be able to sleep unless he is satisfied with how he spends his waking hours. When he seems to have resolved his current concerns, Nazuna invites him to her apartment to share his futon. After a while, unaware that he is only pretending to be unconscious, she bends over and bites his neck.
