When Burn the Witch’s OneShot hit a few years ago, few would have expected Tite Kubo to return with a manga. In early 2020, almost a year ago, Shueisha and the Mangaka announced a brand new collaboration with Burn the Witch at the center of a manga and anime project.
The first four chapters of Burn the Witch, which make up the first season of the manga, were released a few months ago. In a new interview, Tite Kubo returns to talk about this new manga, when it came to fruition, this story’s relationship with Bleach, and the future.
At the Jump Festa, where he presented himself in excellent shape after the last physical complaints, including the end of the bleach, Tite Kubo confirmed again that Burn the Witch Season 2 will not be released soon: it will be some time before he realized it and sentence was entered by the editor. The mangaka has had to continue the designs of Burn the Witch alone because of Covid, which did not allow working with assistants. Then he tried digital drawing on his iPad and said he enjoyed it and learned from the experience.
He then spoke of that Relationship between Burn the Witch and Bleach. The two works are obviously related and set in the same world, but Kubo said there won’t be many references to the Shinigami and their world. Rather, he will occasionally insert some Easter eggs as a fan service. This doesn’t mean that building the world can lead to much more concise references in future seasons.
So for now There are no dates for the second season of Burn the Witch which at this point may not arrive until the last few months of the year 2021.
