BOOM! Studios announces Buffy the Vampire Slayer 25th Anniversary Special, the comic book special dedicated to the vampire hunter that debuted on television 25 years ago in March 1997. It will be an oversized one-shot which is to be released in the US for March 2022.
This special features stories by Jeremy Lambert, Lilah Sturges, Danny Lore, Casey Gilly and Sarah Gailey, accompanied by artists Claudia Balboni, Claire Roe, Bayleigh Underwood, Marianna Ignazzi and Carlos Olivares. it will also serve as an epilogue for the first three years of stories in the new comic book sequel to Buffy the Vampire Slayer from BOOM! Studios.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, created by Joss Whedon, was produced for a total of 7 seasons. According to actors like James Marsters, Whedon caused trouble on the set of Buffy, which ended in 2003. After the series was canceled Buffy’s adventures continued in the comics published by Dark Horse Comics. In 2007 the publishing rights were briefly transferred to IDW Publishing, then again to Dark Horse and finally in 2018 to BOOM! Studios.
