We came to one crucial phase of the manga from Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations. With Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha weakened by the clash with Isshiki Otsutsuki and everything that happened after that, the limelight now sheds light on the new generation with Boruto and Kawaki on one side and Code and the new Kara organization on the other.

However, the ending of the Boruto: Naruto the Next Generations manga is unlikely to focus on clashing with Code and its allies. In fact, we saw those at the beginning of the manga Kawaki’s betrayal and the fight between him and Boruto in a ruined Konoha. When will Kawaki’s betrayal happen? The manga seems to have already started to give direction.

For now, code remains the main focus, but in the meantime both Kawaki and Boruto are training. Kawaki is not used to the training methods of Team 7 and there seem to be some breaks in how the situation should be carried on with Boruto who opted for a different process from the suggestion of the teammate.

The unpredictable effects of Amado’s pills and a possible code invasion of Konoha that resulted in the deaths of Naruto and other ninjas in the village, could be in Kawaki. cause a violent reaction who then decides to get away from his friend and do things his own way to destroy the Otsutsuki.

So the narrative arc of Kawaki’s betrayal would take place immediately after the end of the fight with code, and assuming another 15 volumes at the end of the manga, we could see it broken into two sections with the second part dedicated to Kawaki’s betrayal. So, will we know more in a couple of years as we watch the character grow?
