On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji, Bocchi the Rock!, a new promotional video of the project was released. The video confirms that the premiere is slated for October 8 in Japan and reveals the opening theme, titled "Seishun Complex' and performed by the voice of the project.
Hamaji began publishing the manga through the magazine Manga time Kirara Max from the publisher Houbunsha in December 2017. In August 2022, the publisher released the fourth compilation volume, followed by the fifth on November 26 in Japan.
