The first part of Bleach: Thousand Years of Blood War ended with two episodes full of basic information about Ichigo’s origins and the spirit contained within his zanpakutΕ. Zangetsu seems to have kept an important secret from the protagonist, which he only reveals in the last episode before the expected return in June 2023.
Back in Karakura Town, Ichigo learns many truths about his past from his father. His mother, Masaki, was actually a Quincy, and was killed in a hollow when drained of her powers by the return of Yhwach. In reality, Masaki had some of Quincy’s powers and also had a void inside him. A condition inherited from Ichigo, who was also shocked by Zangetsu’s latest revelation.
Be a part of Quincy Ichigo has Yhwax blood in his veins, and it was this part of the Quincy’s creator that closely watched the protagonist that took the form of his zanpakuto. At the same time, however, this manifestation of Your Majesty tried limit Ichigo’s abilities fearing that he might become more than a shinigami and gain extraordinary power.
Because of this, Zangetsu decides to tell him the whole truth and say goodbye for good after Ichigo manages to unleash a new level of power and consequently forge a new Zanpakuto. If on the one hand Ichigo has lost one of the most important allies, on the other hand the disappearance of Zangetsu allows him to finally access it missing piece of yourself and thereby to an even greater power.
Finally, remember that according to MyAnimeList, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War would be the best anime in history and we leave you with a beautiful Yoruichi cosplay ready to take action.
