2016, bleach finished. Fifteen years of honorable service at Weekly Shonen Jump has made it one of the most celebrated manga of all time, both in Japan and around the world. Tite Kubo took long breaks, interrupted by some special chapters of Burn the Witch, but not only.

Surprisingly, in August 2021 Bleach opened a special chapter that almost wants to be the basis of a new saga, completely new and with many fronts still to be explored. The chapter published in Weekly Shonen Jump was then collected in a special volume, but it was only published in digital version in Shueisha stores. 60 pages of mystery and a few battles plus a huge cliffhanger at the end debuting the saga of hell.

It’s not possible to say that this volume sold like hotcakes considering that it’s in a digital-only version, but the phrase may still be a perfect fit since, according to some polls, the The Bleach special was selling a copy every six minutes. The sales figures are therefore exorbitant.

This is enough for push Kubo and the Shueisha to continue the Bleach saga? There is no news at the moment, but surely there is a plan for the future that has not yet been made public.
