it is on the way a new Black Adam comic series. In anticipation of the film’s release with The Rock, screenwriter Christopher Priest and artist Rafa Sandoval are teaming up to create a new series regular out next June.
“Forgive the cliché, but I’ve rarely been so excited about a new project“Priest said.”DC has given me the amazing opportunity to explore and in a sense reinvent the character in a new light while offering redemption, new challenges and consequences to a man who has lived too long and has everything he wants. Rafa Sandoval brings palpable electricity to every table, expressing all my ideas Kirby Simonson style and taking them to heights I never thought I could reach. My only regret is that I can only have 22 pages a month for this series“.
The new series is coming a few months before the release of the film adaptation dedicated to the character. Despite being a project dedicated to a character who has never appeared on the big screen, the Black Adam film has been called the most anticipated by fans.
In this new comic series, the immortal Teth-Adam is confronted with a terminal illness. However, before you give in to death, Black Adam must find a worthy successor to lend his powers toand who is to be entrusted with the defense of the kingdom of Kahndaq.
“I’ve always been a fan of the Shazam world and one of the things I’ve always wanted to draw is a charismatic villain and Black Adam is perfect at that.“said Sandoval.”This is the first time I have had the opportunity to work with Christopher Priest and his attention to detail and open-mindedness make him a great creative partner.“.
The release of Black Adam #1 is scheduled for June 21, 2022 in the US. The publication of the first edition is accompanied by numerous Variant Coverage by Rafa Sandoval, Mikel Janin & Lucio Parrillo, Crystal Kung, Cully Hamner and Travis Mercer & Danny Miki.
