In its first week on the Japanese market, the third Blu-ray / DVD package of the second season of the animated manga adaptation of Paru Itagaki, Beasts, accumulates only 360 copies sold. This pack was released in Japan on August 18th, and apparently copies of the DVDs sold were so low that they weren’t even listed.
The package was released in Japan on August 18th and contains episodes seventh through ninth of this second season (nineteenth through twenty-first of the adaptation in general). Among the benefits is an additional manga by Paru Itagaki and a special illustration starring Pina, who is also the cover of the product.
Eventually, Itagaki started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Champion from the publisher Akita Shoten in September 2016 and ended in October 2020. The first season with twelve episodes aired between October and December 2019, followed by a second season between January and March 2021. The production of a third season has been confirmed.

- Nao Ootsu (Weapon designer for Youjo Senki, Supporting character designer for Banana fish) was responsible for the character design.
- Eiji Inomoto (Kantai Collection, Ghost in the Shell Arise) is the chief executive officer of CG. Satoru Kousaki (Wake up girl, both seasons of Don’t pray Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, Monogatari Series: Second Season) was responsible for composing the soundtrack.
Summary of Beastars
In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, herbivores and carnivores coexist. For Cherryton Academy teenagers, school life is full of hope, romance, suspicion, and discomfort. The main character in this story is the wolf Regoshi, a member of the theater club. Despite her menacing appearance, she has a very soft heart and character. For most of his life he was always the object of fear and hatred from other animals and was used to this lifestyle. But soon he finds himself more and more with his classmates, who have their own insecurities, and he realizes that his life at school will take a major turn.
