The new comic book series from DC Comics, written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Dustin Nguyen, Robin & Batman, tracing the origins of Dick Grayson, the first boy wonder. In this return to the past, it turns out that his first costume wasn’t the iconic yellow, green, and red everyone knows, but a decidedly dark one.

Robin & Batman returns after Dick Grayson’s first stepsmurder of his parents. Adopted by Bruce Wayne, he becomes his first assistant, Robin. Therefore, the story of Lemire does not bring revolution, but simply enriches the reader’s knowledge during the first days they spend in society teacher and student.

In a preview of the series, we see Dick getting ready for his first fight against crime Follow the Caped Crusader’s instructions using a headset. In these scenes you can see how even Batman himself suffered under the pressure of this “first time”: fearing that his aide would be hurt, he tried to intervene at all costs.

Not only that, in Robin & Batman, readers will discover the real, first costume worn by Dick. For his first mission, the first Wonder Boy got one Suit of dark color, much more like that of the Dark Knight. We only recently found out why Robin’s costume was revolutionized back then with bright and cheerful colors.

The flashback of the first adventures ofOriginal Dinamico Duo coincide with what DC Comics calls the “Month of Robin”, thirty days celebrating the various iterations of the legendary Boy Wonder. For example, in another story, we will see Robin’s first LGBTQ date.
