After the airing of the final episode of the second season of the anime Arifureta Shokugyou by Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From the commonplace to the strongest in the world) a press release was issued announcing the production of an OVA that will be released in Japan sometime during the summer 2022 (July-September) season. The release featured a preview of this upcoming release:
This second season premiered on January 13th and had a total of twelve episodes (plus an OVA on the first Blu-ray), while the Funimation platform is responsible for western distribution. For his part Ryou Shirakome publish these light novels with illustrations by Takayaki by the publisher OVERLAP since June 2015. The work has already sold more than 5 million copies and the first season was produced by the studios WHITE FOXconsisted of thirteen episodes and was broadcast in July 2019.

Summary for Arifureta Shokugyou by Sekai Saikyou
High school student Hajime Nagumo is bullied by his classmates for dating school idol Kaori. As he and the rest of the class are transported to a fantasy world, all of his classmates gain powerful magical abilities while Hajime gains only basic alchemy magic to transform solid materials, which is common practice with blacksmiths. During a dungeon raid, he is betrayed by one of his teammates and thrown to the bottom of the dungeon. Hajime survives the fall and begins crafting weapons to escape the dungeon and become stronger. On his way he meets the vampire Yue and is later joined by the rabbit-eared girl Shea, the perverted dragon Tio and others.
