The editorial office Kadokawa announced that the light novels were written by Satori Tanabata and illustrated by torch, Villainy Level 99: I may be the hidden boss, but I’m not the demon lord (Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura boss desu ga Maou dewa Arimasen), will have an anime adaptation. The press release did not reveal any production details or a planned release date.
Satori Tanabata began publishing light novels with illustrations by torch about publisher Kadokawa in May 2019 and they are still in the process of being released. Also a manga adaptation by nokomi will be published via the digital service B’s LOG comic since February 2020.
