An office worker and her cat arrive at The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again today

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by Hitsuji Yamada, The masterful cat is depressed again today (Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu) a new promotional image of the project was shared. The press release revealed and confirmed the voice actors and production team the premiere is planned for next July in Japan.

Yamada started publishing the manga through the service Suiyoubi no Sirius from the publisher kodansha in August 2018 and subsequently began publication on paper in the magazine Monthly Shōnen Sirius in October 2021.

Synopsis for The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today

When Saku took in a stray black cat, he never imagined that she would become the equivalent of a life partner in the house. But Yukichi, a giant cat towering over Saku, is no ordinary cat. He prides himself on his cooking skills and a bargain at the supermarket always makes his whiskers twitch. Saku may not have woken up yet, but at least he has Yukichi.
