Through a press release Cygames announced the production of a new original anime titled The Border Service. The statement revealed and confirmed the voice cast and production team slated to premiere sometime in 2023 in Japan.

The trailer for the anime reveals several characters, namely: Brian night robber, Zeno Stokes, Bolt Dexter, Robin Timbert, Lyra Candyheart, Cyrus N. Kuca, Theodore Thompson and a squirrel-like character named Pick Desmond, however it is never mentioned which voice actor is assigned to each. It also includes the slogan: «The explosive debut of a service that shouldn't be known!».

  • Yoshio Kosakai (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online) is responsible for character design and animation direction.
