A circle that has lasted for decades has almost closed. Since his first trip to the Kanto region, starting from Pallet Town, Ash Ketchum caught many Pokemon to train them and try to become a regional champion. Unfortunately, the first tournaments didn't please him, but victory in the Galar Pokémon League came.

This victory marks the end of a cycle, since Ash Ketchum will continue his journey with Pikachu, but disappearing from the screens, leaving his place to two new protagonists who will visit the Paldea region, the main area of the new introduced generation of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. In the meantime, however, the anime will continue until April, and then Ash will continue to be the protagonist for a while. This retracing of his journey will result in many encounters and there will be another one in February.

There will be a special encounter in the fifth special episode of Pokémon: Explorations, which will lead to Salute from Ash. "Burn! The Squirtle team" is a title that is already very clear and that perfectly describes what will happen: after years of absence, Ash meets the Firefighter Squirtle which he captured during the first series in Kanto and which was initially one of his favorite Pokémon. The blue turtle, starter of many trainers around the world, will therefore once again be the protagonist in the anime, perhaps together with his group of Pokéfirefighters, all with the particular glasses that have made them very famous among fans.

Obviously, it wasn't and won't be the only Pokémon to make a comeback in recent episodes: Not long ago, Ash met his Butterfree with a touching scene.
