Sony was acquired in August 2021 crispy roll, one of the most important streaming services when it comes to distributing anime. The initial investment of $1.175 billion is proving excellent given the growing number of platforms that will have their own key in the new line of Bravia TVs.

In addition to the various improvements on the hardware side and the inclusion of exclusive functions related to the PS5, the remote controls of the new range of Bravia TVs will have one Crunchyroll button, along with some of the most popular streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+, as you can see from the images at the bottom of the page. During the presentation, there were slides summarizing Crunchyroll’s vast catalog to show the exponential growth that has been achieved over the last few years.
This is an almost overdue addition given the platform’s takeover, but it’s still interesting to note how an industry giant like Sony is going after this more and more push a platform based on overseas Japanese animation, where demand continues to grow.
