As previously reported, following the airing of the final episode of the anime adaptation, the light novel will be written by Yu Tanaka and illustrated by LLO, Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita (Reborn as a sword), production of a second season has been confirmed. The hero differs from the usual protagonists of Isekai stories in that he is reincarnated as a sword. He begins his quest by emerging in the middle of a beast-infested forest, only to find an injured girl desperately running for her life. When they save her from her attackers, the two meet and the girl introduces herself as Fran. He has a difficult past, having been enslaved and mistreated by his tribe, the Black Cats. Since the hero cannot remember the name of his past life, the young and stubborn Fran gives him the name “Shishou” and becomes its bearer. From there, Shishou and Fran become a formidable team, embarking on missions to liberate the oppressed and bring about justice.
